Brides come in different shapes, and you surely want to accentuate whatever shape you have on your wedding day. Your wedding gown silhouette should do wonders to complement your figure, so go for a classic cut that will hug you in the right places.

Some gown silhouettes are more forgiving than the others. These foolproof dress styles--the empire waist, A-line, and princess-cut--will look good on practically anybody.

Empire-waist

The high waistline flatters the bustline, and the skirt also camouflages a heavy bottom. While this bridal gown's cut is similar to a maternity dress, an empire-waist gown accents curves beautifully.

Princess-cut

The princess-cut is similar to the A-line, but with added slimming lines. Featuring vertical panels on the dress, a princess-cut wedding gown gives the illusion that the wearer is taller and slimmer. The style is flattering because the panels follow the wearer's natural curves.
