Featured Wedding: Jeanie & Gian

Jeanie's hobby was doing crafts, so it was no surprise that her wedding was a "big DIY (do-it-yourself) project" featuring wedding details that she made herself. Those close to Jeanie even had a running joke that she only wanted to get married because of the DIY projects she could do.

Jeanie used her DIY prowess in making the invites, guest boxes, souvenir packages, tags, place cards, reception centerpieces and some ceremony accessories. She sourced most of her materials locally, but she also went to Japan and Thailand to get some special craft pieces, like wooden birdcages, monograms and Styrofoam birds.

Aside from making the wedding more personalized, the DIY projects in Jeanie and Gian's wedding also gave the couple a chance to bond. While Jeanie did the layout of the invites, Gian helped in gluing hearts on the maps to mark the wedding venue's location. Moreover, the couple's hands-on attitude also gave them a chance to collaborate clearly and successfully with their suppliers.

By working together, Jeanie and Gian were able to make their dream wedding a reality. But what made all the extra effort worth it was the love and happiness that filled their special day--things that no man can craft alone.
