Wedding-Appropriate Tagalog Songs

See some song options if you're going the OPM route!

If there's one thing that will help you cast a spell of romance on your wedding day, it's your wedding song. While there are a myriad of tunes you can choose from to represent your love story, there's something about Tagalog songs that makes the lyrics seem more heartfelt.

Pinoys are blessed with many special kundimans, but if you'd rather choose a more contemporary track, see some suggestions we've gathered below. Sing or dance to these songs at your wedding to make your celebration even more memorable.

Panalangin (APO Hiking Society)

On your wedding day, you and your husband look forward to a lifetime together. Panalangin, a track by the APO Hiking Society, features the lyrics "Panalangin ko sa habang buhay, makapiling ka, makasama ka, 'yan ang panalangin ko," which echoes the sentiment of wanting to be with each other in this well-loved song.

Ikaw at Ako
(Johnoy Danao)

A song off Johnoy Danao's album Dapithapon, Ikaw at Ako feels like a modern kundiman that speaks of love's resilience. The lyrics "Sabay nating gawing kahapon ang bukas" is a clever take on your vows to be together.

Kahit Maputi na Ang Buhok Ko (Rey Valera)

Originally sung by Rey Valera, Kahit Maputi Na ang Buhok Ko is still a favorite among sentimental Pinoys. The lyrics "Ang pag-ibig ko'y laging sa ?yo kahit maputi na ang buhok ko" has quite a recall among the young and old, as Noel Cabangon also has his own rendition of this song about unchanging love.

Sundo (Imago)

The dreamy melody of Imago's Sundo makes this modern track appropriate--yet unexpected--for a wedding. The lyrics "Asahan mong mula ngayon pag-ibig ko'y sayo" serves as a vow that marks the start of your lives together.

Sinta
(Sugarfree)

The now-defunct Sugarfree sings of finding salvation in love through the upbeat song Sinta. They sing: "Buti na lang nandyan ka," speaking of a common feeling of relief in having a confidante.
