Top Wedding Churches

Not sure which church to pick for your wedding? Or are you having second thoughts about the wedding church you have in mind? Here's a list and guide of the top wedding churches in and out of the Metro!

Caleruega/Transfiguration Chapel (Nasugbu, Batangas)

At the peak of Caleruega is the Transfiguration Chapel--a rustic structure set amidst a garden filled with extraordinary flora. Caleruega's breathtaking view makes it perfect for photo opportunities; no wonder that this is one of the most sought-after wedding venues! Remember to book at least a year in advance, since a lot of couples wish to have their weddings here; June and December are the busiest months. Caleruega also has a wide range of reception areas depending on the amount of guests you have.
Considering Caleruega's location, you may want to arrange for your guests' transportation and lodging. Remind guests to wear breezy clothes and comfy footwear; walking from the parking lot to the chapel could be quite a hike!

Rental fee: PhP15,000 (Use of chapel only)

Paco Chapel (Paco, Manila)

Holding a small, intimate wedding? Then Paco Chapel, also known as St. Pancratius Chapel, will suit your wedding church needs. This small, dome-shaped chapel lies at the center of the elliptical Paco Park. The fountain in front of the church will add serenity to your wedding. The entourage's walk will start from the entrance of the park and will lead all the way to the altar. The simple interiors of the chapel make its adornments brighter.
Advise your guests to be early because parking spaces are only outside the park. Ask them to prepare some change for the parking boys who will watch over the cars.

Rental Fee: PhP15,000 (includes flower arrangement, red carpet and priest)
Contact Information: 525-7853 or 524-2022 loc 119

Manila Cathedral (Intramuros, Manila)

If you and your husband-to-be are sentimental, then the historic spot of Intramuros might just be the place for you. It houses ancient churches that have survived the test of time, which includes the Manila Cathedral. The cathedral is known for its main altar, which pays homage to the Immaculate Conception.
Like in any church, ventilation is a concern. Manila Cathedral has air-conditioning, but such an amenity will depend on the wedding package you choose. In case you find it costly to avail of the package with air-con, remind your guests to bring fans. Or better yet, provide your guests with nice, fancy fans that can already serve as your wedding giveaway!

Rental fee: PhP5,000-PhP40,000 (depending on wedding package chosen)

San Agustin Church (Intramuros, Manila)

Another church in Intramuros that boasts of ornate design and structure is the San Agustin Church. With its baroque architecture, this old stone church will be a great backdrop to your wedding ceremony. Adorning the church ceiling is a trompe l'oeil painting which can make any bride's walk down the aisle dreamy and majestic!
Make your reservations a year before your planned wedding date, since San Agustin is one of the most sought-after wedding churches in the metro. As a world heritage site, anticipate that there will be onlookers during your wedding. Assign good wedding ushers to assure the solemnity of your ceremony. There's no need to worry about parking because the church grounds has enough parking space.

Rental Fee: PhP23,000 (includes simple flower arrangement, carpet, organist and singer)
Contact Information: 527-4052; 527-2746; 338-2091

San Sebastian Church (Quiapo, Manila)

Want to break away from the traditional stone churches? Then consider the San Sebastian Church. Found amidst the busy streets of Quiapo, this unique structure stands out. Being made entirely of steel, and flaunting Gothic architecture, the church will provide an interesting backdrop for your wedding. The warm, intricate adornments inside the church, plus the elaborate stained glass windows, will make your wedding photos look like renaissance paintings.
Since it can be warm inside the church, it is best to hold your wedding here when the weather is cool. December is the peak month. Advise your guests to come early to secure a slot in the first come-first served parking space nearby.

Rental Fee: PhP20,000 (includes flowers, carpet, church coordinator, soloist, organist,  and priest)

Malate Church (Malate, Manila)

If you're excited to raise a family, consider heading down to Malate Church. Built in honor of the Nuestra Señora de los Remedios (Our Lady of Remedies), the patroness of childbirth, Malate Church is one of the famed choices for marrying couples. Its long aisle would suit you if you like drama. The church's baroque-style structure and white walls bordered with golden accents make for a clean, classy look.
If your guests will arrive early, remind them to bring fans because the church's electric fans will be turned on only during the ceremony. In any case, all church doors will be open, so the wind blowing through the church can provide proper ventilation. And since the vicinity of the church is lined with bars and restaurants, it would be best to schedule a wedding early in the morning to avoid the noise from such establishments.

Rental Fee: PhP12,000 (includes flowers, carpet, organist, soloist and seminar; use of church for 1.5 hours)

Compared to the previous churches that offer rich, historical grandeur, this church holds a welcoming ambiance that entices couples. Its interior is noted for its mix of gold and wooden accents. Its modern façade is perfect for wedding photos. A small garden by its entrance may also be used as a nice waiting area for guests.
Since it is found in an exclusive subdivision in Greenhills, you can be assured that your ceremony will be kept solemn. Around the church, security guards are assigned to manage the flow of people who come around the vicinity of the church. Such a setting will surely make your wedding day free of worries!

Christ the King is noted as an ideal church for big weddings.
It has a wide parking space and a driveway to the entrance of the church. Since it is in the Greenhills area, you'll have an easier time looking for a reception area nearby.
