The definitive MITZI Q. sensibility is "Refined Restraint." She believes that the beauty of a dress is best viewed "deboned" of any superfluous element, hence her pieces always stand out in form and structure sans the embellishment. Her official debut into the Fashion Industry was when her Crystal Potpourri dress was featured in Swarovski's Do-It-Yourself Catalog in 2004, published in Austria and distributed worldwide. It was one of only 5 Filipino entries chosen to be published in the book, culled from among hundreds of international entries. Shortly after, she was shortlisted to be part of Manila's very progressive Young Designers' Guild (YDG), for which she has served as Vice-President from 2007 to 2009. Her debut collection in Philippine Fashion Week 2005 was hailed by one of the leading fashion glossies as "current" and "cohesive" and the succeeding collections have been equally successful. Various other citations include "Nominee-Designer for Retail (2007)," "Ten Women to Watch (Jan. 2006)," "Ten Upcoming Designers to Watch (Feb. 2005 and Nov. 2006)," "Fashion High...Emergent Talent" (Jan. 2006) among others in Manila's most relevant fashion glossies and broadsheets. Her eight years in the fashion business has been marked by numerous commissions for high-calibre fashion shows (such as Alliance Francaise's Traits Tres Mode Show in 2005, and Samsung's Metrowear annual shows ), magazine glossies covers, and countless features in TV shows, print and e-zines. Celebrity stylists favor the MQB aesthetic as well and have used her clothes on celebrities such as Lucy Torres-Gomez, Leah Salonga, Anne Curtis, Megan Young, Kim Chu, Isabel Oli and Christine Jacobs to name a few.
